I started another ZOOM online bible study of Ascension Press Jeff Cavins Great Adventure Bible Timeline and have been looking forward to this 3rd time facilitating but this time will be different...I am different. I have learned so much over the past 3 years that has deepened my faith in so many ways. Traveling with a group of incredible people has been a true gift and blessing on my journey of trying to find God.
While I have a great love and need of the Eucharist, I find myself wanting to know more about God and how He relates to us. So.....ooo, this time I am going to do something a little different. I am not one who will remember chapter and verse but I remember stories and what I want is to understand this creator from a very personal level...I want what Moses had in Exodus 33:11-23, an intimate friendship with my Creator,
"Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face-to-face, as a man speaks to his friend.". But Moses was only in God's presence and speaking with God. Moses wanted more, he wanted to see God's GLORY, His FACE but God said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim before you my name THE LORD...but you cannot see my face; for man shall not see me and live."
My journey is not to see God's face but to develop that intimate friendship. My need is to know more about who He is so maybe, just maybe I can better understand His plan and my purpose in this life.
