School Ideas

Imagine for a moment

what would happen

if teachers,

catechists,

and parents

joined together in the great commission

to help our children

learn

and live

their Catholic Faith

and become

the young people

that God intended them to be.

Do you want to help create a great Catholic (with a capital C) School?

Now you can.

Here are some ideas to help you get started:

  • Have a display in the teachers' lounge (or the office) for teachers as well as parents. Bring it out at school registration and on parents' nights. See display options here.

  • Supplement your library and teachers' lounge with Lighthouse Talks, books, and booklets.

  • Use YOUCATs (the youth catechism) and the YOUCAT Prayer Books in the classroom along with the DOCAT.

  • Offer CDs on parenting to your parents.  Offer support for parents through CDs such as Protecting Innocence by Matt Fradd and Parenting for Purity by Jason Evert.

  • Encourage the CD of the Month Club for families and teachers....an incredible faith-raiser. Teachers can even join together for an option to receive 6 or 10 each month.
